The dome weights some 81,000 kilograms. During the time of the temple's construction, a 6 km long ramp was built out of earth, to haul the dome into place. The carvings on the temple were inspired by Saivites, Vaishnavaites and Buddhism and there are also some interesting frescoes. A large Nandi (Siva's bull) stands in the courtyard.|In the Old Town of Thanjavur is an interesting art gallery. It is housed in the labyrinthine palace and has an exhibition of ancient statues.|There are several hotels and restaurants in town. Thanjavur is 1950 km south of Delhi. More Chola temples can be found in the towns around Thanjavur. Thirukandiyur is 10 km from Thanjavur, Thiruvaiyaru 13 km, Kumbakonam 40 km and Tiruvarur 55 km.";

The region supported a large number of people, but they cleared the vegetation in search of fertile land and the soil eroded away, resulting in today's limestone mass. Also nowadays only few people live in the region and there are only several settlements along the coast, including the popular Irish music center of Doolin and the picturesque village of Ballyvaughan. Some 65 Stone Age megalithic tombs remain as prove of previous habitation. There are also many Iron Age stone forts, known as ring forts, scattered all over The Burren, as well as several castle ruins. Unpaved, green road, dating back many thousands of years, still exist and reach even the most remote places in the area.|Accommodation is scarce in The Burren. You can get there by bus from Limerick, Galway, or Ennis. During the winter, buses run less frequent, so check the timetables first.";

If you want to visit all the castles in the loop though, you will need several days, a 4WD vehicle and a guide.|Some of the most interesting castles are those of Qasr al-Hallabat, Hammam as-Sarakh, Azraq and Qusayr 'Amra.|Qasr al-Hallabat was originally a Roman fort, but the Umayyads converted it into a palace after they took over. Not far from Qasr al-Hallabat is Hammam as-Sarakh, a bathhouse and hunting lodge. Both bathhouse and lodge have been beautifully restored and the bathhouse includes the original channels that were used for hot water and steam.|In the town of Azraq is a black basalt castle, which was once Lawrence of Arabia's headquarters during the Arab Revolt. Azraq is 90 km east of Amman.|Qusayr 'Amra is the best preserved of the desert castles and it walls are covered in frescoes.";

It is a strenuous climb and you should spend a while in the region to get acclimatized to the high altitude. Wear good shoes and take warm clothing. It is also possible to reach the Base Camp by 4WD vehicle from Shegar.";

In many of the region's villages, handicrafts, such as decorated bows and arrows, kina shells, basketry and coarse woolen goods are sold. Good hiking possibilities are available in Mount Gahavisuka Provincial Park. The highest peak in PNG is 4509 m (14,790 feet) high Mount Wilhelm. The views from its peak are magnificent. Another interesting place to visit is Lake Kutubu and the surrounding countryside.";

During the Wet it is often impossible to navigate of cross many watercourses. The Kimberley is 1900 km northeast of Perth and 3000 km northwest of Canberra.";

The town has a bad reputation though, so be careful.";

Along the river, in the eastern part of The Sepik, are the Chambri Lakes, a large expanse of shallow water, where arts and crafts are sold in many of the villages. The Abalem people in the Maprik area have a distinctive culture with haus tambarans, yam cults and decorative carvings.|Accommodation can be arranged in many of the region's villages.";

Buses are often overcrowded though, so if you have more money to spend, you might consider hiring a car. It is also possible to explore the region on mountain-bike.";

The adjacent church hasa unique design that incorporates a decorative stone front, open-air sides and a ceiling in the shape of a ship's hull. If you want to learn more about Anguilla's history and natural environment, you should visit the Anguilla National Trust Museum.|There are several hotels and restaurants in The Valley. The town is in the geographic center of Anguilla.";

n["thimphu"][1]="Thimphu is the small capital of Bhutan, situated on the banks of the Thimphu Chhu (Thimphu River), on a hillside in a beautiful wooded valley. The town has a medieval atmosphere, with brightly painted houses and little traffic. Thimphu is the only capital city in the world without any traffic lights.|Thimphu is dominated by the Trashi Chhoe Dzong (fortress of the Glorious Religion), which sits on a commanding position on a hill above the town. I was renovated in the 1960's and it houses the offices of the king and the central monk body. Not far below the fortress is the School of Arts & Crafts, where traditional skills are taught to talented children from all over Bhutan. It includes a small shop, where some of the student's truly magnificent works are for sale.|The most prominent landmark in Thimphu itself is the Memorial Chorten, which contains many sacred religious paintings and tantric statues. The chorten is an important place of worship and people circumnambulate it throughout the day. If you want to join in, remember to walk in a clockwise direction. In the center of Thimphu is the Weekend Market, where villagers from rural towns in the region sell their produce to Thimphu residents and where good bargains are available. In the nearby Changlimithang Stadium, frequent archery competitions are held. Archery is Bhutan's national sport and the competitors wear traditional garb and perform entertaining rituals. At the National Institute of Traditional Medicine, medicines are manufactured using over 300 different plants from throughout the kingdom.|There are several so-called 'top-end' hotels in Thimphu, although the Bhutan version of top-end is different from Western standards. Most hotels look like they have not been done up for about 20 years, but they are usually clean and the service is good. In most hotels the rooms are ornately decorated in Bhutanese style and you may often get the feeling of being in a monastery instead of a hotel. During the Thimphu tsechu in autumn, most accommodation is fully booked, but you'll always be able to find a guesthouse or a room in someone's home.
